(The Subconscious) Mind

To understand the Mind, it is easiest to see it as two parts, or as two dimensions. The conscious and the subconscious part

This text is mainly about understanding the subconscious as it is the subsconscious mind we work with in hypnosis and what is usually simply called "mind" in RTT. The subconscious is sometimes called the emotional mind as well. It is not logical, takes everything literally and has no humor. It has no verbal language. Its language is images, emotion, repetition, habits, the familiar. That's our habit. Our language, our habits and everything we do on autopilot originates here.

To understand the subconscious is, it may be appropriate to understand its partner, the conscious part. The second part of the mind is the conscious part, the thinking, creative part, the part that reflects, the day-conscious part that is also engaged in processing sense impressions from the outer world Here is the self-conscious which gives us the opportunity choose, plan and make decisionswhich pretty much defines us as humans We can travel mentally in time and space, think thoughts no one else thought, and make mental images inside.

Språket what the subconscious reacts to are the words you say to yourself and the images you make in your head. It also responds repetition and feelingsthe deeper, the better your body is the intrument of the mind 100%. It can not do something that the mind does not tell it to do consciously or unconsciously.

The subconscious is our powercenter. Det är is always switched on and never rests or sleeps. It's like a camcorder that is constantly turned on and records exactly everything we experience, ie not just what we focus on. It processes and takes in an information flow that is 40 Million data bits / s (1 bit = the smallest data unit and represents on / off, one or zero). The conscious mind processes 40 bits / s, which means that the subconscious can take in and process one million times that, the conscious mind can handle.

It is lighting fast and instinctive and can perform loads of tasks simultaneously. It handles heart rate, respiration and other life-sustaining functions. Its dimension is a constant and eternal NOWIt only understands the present tense.

This is why a habit can repeat itself forever if you do not actively and consciously break them and replace them. Think of habits you can perform that come from generations back. Unbroken habits and even trauma can be transmitted for generations and thus several people survive. So powerful is the subconscious, and so impersonal.

The subconscious is the place of our mental habitual programming. Most often it is the habits of our parents or others.

Habits and beliefs are just thoughts repeated over and over until they crystallize into habits or beliefs. (Note that our beliefs are our personal truths, something we perceive as true, but which is not from an objective sense.) Thoughts or ideas can also be planted immediately in the subconscious with a strong emotional charge such as a trauma. Or a strong positive event such as the birth of a child.

The behaviors and actions we perform daily are 95% habitual recurring behaviors that are played out of our subconscious mental programming as in a "circular closed motion", repeated over and over again at certain times or situations, and culminating in behaviors or actions.

The actions we do on autopilot without us being aware of them. This means that only a few percent of our actions in a day are conscious, or chosen. Therefore, if we are to change our behaviors, we should focus on the cause of them, our beliefs and habits, and they are thus in the subconscious.

When we examine scenes that take us to the root cause of a problem. Where the subconscious leads us to an RTT session, and we then make interpretations of how the scenes relate to the current situation, the result is often an "aha-experience", or "a light goes up", that is, we understand why a problem exists today through an understanding in a hypnotic state, in a state of alpha brain waves. Usually the same state in which the beliefs were formed, that is, the child's. An understanding of hypnosis, an understanding on an emotional level, is the most liberating transforming force you can imagine!

And this is what we do in RTT, we look at the core of the belief, the root cause, which is emotional, and reformulate it, re-evaluate it. And when we do our belief, our personal truth about that event changes, and THAT is the magic of RTT, because a change in belief in a strong emotional event that is interpreted negatively, gives a liberating feeling that gives rings on the water. You feel lighter, freer and look at life more optimistically.

If you want to deepen your knowledge of the subconscious, I suggest the book ”The Power of the Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy.
